First Day of Summer at the Lake of the Ozarks!

While the unofficial start to summer at the Lake of the Ozarks is Memorial Day, the first official day of summer is June 21st! Spend Time Outside


June 21st is right after the summer solstice, which means it will be one of the longest days of the year. That gives you plenty of time to have fun in the sun on the first day of summer! June is also National Great Outdoors Month, so now is the perfect time to get outside and celebrate summer.

On the Water


The Lake of the Ozarks is obviously a great place to spend time out on the water boating, tubing, kayaking, skiing, swimming, fishing, and more. There are also a lot of other great outdoor activities to enjoy at the Lake.

Hiking


Ha Ha Tonka State Park has an incredible network of gorgeous hiking trails, including the Turkey Pen Hollow, Devil's Kitchen, Castle, Island, Spring, Dell Rim, Colosseum, Oak Woodland Interpretive, Deer's Leap Hill, Boulder Ridge Trails. Each of them shows off a different highlight of the 3,709 acre park with varying levels of difficulty and length. Enjoy bubbling streams, cliff overlooks, caves, and more as you enjoy hiking at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Camping


The Lake of the Ozarks State Park is a great place to set up camp and get started enjoying a summer filled with fun. The first day of summer will also include a new moon, so the stars will be extra bright that weekend! Spend time in nature and see how many constellations you can find with your group.
