7 Things to Enjoy at the Lake of the Ozarks This Fall

At Your Favorite Real Estate Team, we can see and feel people’s excitement when they achieve their dream of buying a home at the Lake of the Ozarks.  They may have diverse reasons for making the move, but one thing is for sure, they are looking forward to getting out and enjoying the Ozarks and all this area has to offer.  With the school season approaching and fall waiting just around the corner, we wanted to share with you some of our favorite things to do or see this time of the year.  Whether you are new the lake area or have lived here all your life, we think you will enjoy them too.

1) State Parks

The Lake of the Ozarks area is BEAUTIFUL all year round.  Fall is no exception.  The State Parks in this area are extensive and each part of the parks has unique features and views.  From hiking to mountain biking to horseback riding, swimming, or just sitting and taking it all in, the Lake of the Ozarks State Park and Ha Ha Tonka State Park, among others, are sure to please.

2) The Bagnell Dam Strip

The Strip has long since been a favorite place for fun and action and it still is today.  There are so many things to do like shopping and dining at some of the best restaurants at the lake.  You can also take on the challenge of a ropes course or see a unique view of the lake while parasailing.  There is an arcade that is sure to take you back to your childhood and lots more to see and do on the Bagnell Dam Strip.

3) Wilmore Lodge

With an amazing overlook of the lake, Wilmore Lodge is a must see.  Originally built as the headquarters to oversee the building of the dam, the museum located in this historical building is a great place to learn the fascinating history of Bagnell Dam.

4) Golfing

The rolling hills of the Ozarks are absolutely perfect for creating unique golf courses and have attracted golf legends from across the nation to build courses here.  Even better, the views from each one are as diverse and special as the courses.

5) Caving

Missouri is the cave state and the lake area has several caves open to the public from commercial caves to caves in the state park.  You are sure to find one that is comfortable for your level of adventure.

6) Aerial Tour

There is nothing like a bird’s eye view of the Lake of the Ozarks to give you a perspective of its beauty and its layout.  We highly recommend taking advantage of one of the aerial services available here.  Be ready to take lots of pictures!

7) Wineries

The Ozark environment is also ideal for growing grapes and hence, there is a fabulous selection of wineries to visit in the Lake of the Ozarks area.  They are a favorite fall attraction for many people living at or visiting the Lake of the Ozarks because of the atmosphere, the scenery, and the variety of wines and blends available to taste.
